Our Wedding
Welcome

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for visiting the wedding website of Jen and JH... where you can find all sorts of info about our "fun in the sun" wedding at Carillon Beach (located within Panama City Beach, Florida).

Once Upon a Time...

I met JH at Outback Steakhouse, where I was a bartender in 2001. JH's dog Jackson had passed away that night and his friends brought him in to help him drink away his sorrows. I was in charge of making sure the big blue plastic football cup he brought in stayed full of beer and... I earned my tip that night. :) JH's friends were harassing me, and I was harassing them right back, of course, and JH kept sneaking off to the side to make sure I was OK. I was doing just fine because his friends are so much fun, but it was a nice excuse for him to come over and talk to me and get my number, hehehe. They shut the bar down, JH stumbled out of the restaurant, and we've been together ever since.

When we met, I was in college at Florida State University working on my Accounting and MIS degrees and JH was busting his butt at American Honda Motor Company. Now, seven years later, we're ready to take the plunge.

Our Engagement

December 2007 was a big month for us. I was just about to graduate from college... again... with my Master's in Information Studies, preparing for family (mine and JH's) to come in town for my graduation, getting ready to leave town for the holidays, and out of nowhere... JH popped the question. He thinks I had a clue that it was coming, but I really had no idea. On a Sunday evening, I had just hosted a Pampered Chef party, hahha, and JH stopped by my townhouse with my puppy Ella. I kept going on and on about the Ultimate Mandoline and he just wanted to get me out of the house, but not before I explained to him that the mandoline could slice crinkle-cut zucchini in no time at all.

He finally got me moving and took me out to our property, a lot that we purchased in Southwood, a neighborhood here in Tallahassee, about a year ago. About 30 minutes into our walk at sunset, JH asked me if I thought I would marry him someday. He's jokingly asked this before so I gave him my usual silly response, "maybe"! Then, he got down on one knee, started reaching for his pocket and promptly dropped the ring in the grass, hahha. Once he gathered himself, he asked me if I would be his wife. I'm pretty sure that's how it went, but it was all a surreal blur to me, haha. All I know for sure is that I said "yes"!!!!

Our family came in town the next week for my graduation and we got to tell all of them together and in person. It was really neat because our families had never met before. We introduced them in the spot he proposed and spilled the beans. It was hard to keep it a secret for a week until they all came in town, but somehow we pulled it off.

Today and Tomorrow

For the past five years and currently, I am a web developer at FSU and JH is the US national sales manager for AGV, an Italian based motorcycle helmet company. (This website was made by yours truly) Shortly after we get married, we are going to start building a house on our Southwood lot. It's such a cute family neighborhood. I'd tell ya more about it, but you should come for a visit :) Consider yourself officially invited!

The main thing that JH and I have in common is our love for our friends and family. If we only spend one day of the week together, we'd love to spend the rest of our time with our friends by JH's pool. We usually have the grill goin and the margaritas flowin. We also LOVE to cook, hence my excitement over the Ultimate Mandoline, hahha :)

Last, but not least, we love love love our puppy Ella (click on her pic). I showed up on JH's doorstep with a boxer/terrier pound puppy 6 months ago. At that time she was 2 months old and only 6 pounds. As little as she was, she was a handful. We try to take her to the puppy park a few times a week.

Wedding, honeymoon, building a house, and... who knows what's next ;) Whew, it's going to be a very big year for us!!!

We can't wait to see you at the wedding... Please leave a comment on our guest book :)

Love,
Jen and JH
